OUTRAGIOUS ORANGE SUNSETS
I get a warm relaxing feel when watching the flaming reds rippling behind the Apalacian Mountain Trail as the sun decends for the night.

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN SETTING
Had an incredible private halloween costume party last night with 30+ guests with "The Cable Guys" band playing. Great food, costumes & weather. Guests were able to celebrate inside & outside infront of the warming bonfire. To end the halloween weekend the full moon in a clear starry sky is currently setting behind Cardigan Mountain while reflecting off of Newfound Lake. An incredible view for the guests to wake up too.

AUGUST WEATHER
Now that the unusual rain for the season has gone we have Hurricane Bill to deal with. I am so glad I have cozy fireplaces and large tubs for my guest to enjoy themselves. I also have a great room for game playing along with chitter chatter infront of the great room fireplace.

JULY WEATHER
The nights are finally getting warmer, like early June, in the 60's. With all the rain we have encountered so far this summer, the new landscaping plans are behind schedule a little over a month. I can not imagine what fall will be like, we most certainly deserve a long indian summer this year.

ENGAGEMENT
Had a beautiful & happy couple get engaged here over the weekend. What a romantic couple, strawberries dipped in chocolate, candles all over the room with silk rose pedals. He gave her a surprise everyday leading up to the "big" question and continued showering her with gifts for days after the proposal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHILLY JUNE
The garden seeds are finally sprouting. Took longer than the norm we are still having chilly evenings and can warm up in front of the fire pit outside and fireplaces inside. I can not imagine being anywhere else.

ICE OUT ON NEWFOUND LAKE, THE LAKES REGION TOO
"ICE OUT" on Lake Winnipesaukee occurred at 12:00 noon April 12, 2009. The official "ICE OUT" was declared by Dave Emerson of Emerson Aviation of Gilford.
Observers have maintained a close watch of the disintegrating ice over the past week. High winds over the last few days help push out the last strongholds.
"ICE OUT" becomes official when the route of the MS Mount Washington is clear and navigable. That is, the ship must be able to cruise among its five ports: Alton Bay, Center Harbor, Meredith, Weirs Beach, and Wolfeboro. Records of "Ice Out" date back into the 1800's. The earliest "Ice Out" reported was on March 28, 1921 and the latest on May 12, 1888. On average Ice Out appears in mid- April. The event serves as one of the annual omens of warmer weather, creating much speculation locally. More importantly, the occurrence signals the advent of another tourist season.

FROGS ARE OUT OF HIBERNATION
Saturday morning I was walking about outside and heard a sound of spring. Frogs singing in the pond.

MUD SEASON HAS ARRIVED
And so has the fog. I love to see the fog on the Newfound Lake up here at approximately 1200'. Seeing the Islands peaking up from the fog with the mountain range in the back drop entices my curiousity. I look for some sort of unknown to peak out of the fog on the lake. Have not seen any thing yet but still looking.

AN UNFORGETTABLE SUNSET
Thursday night, right before dusk the clear blue sky was lit with an enourmous perfectly round fire ball. It was magnificent to watch decending behind Cardigan Mountain. I had to leave the sunset to pick up my Son for our dinner date. Along the way, I was able to follow the blazing sphere down the mountain.
